Il Rosso Risvegliato

An opera for 2 performers, extended winds and electro-acoustic devices by Alexander Chernyshkov

Il Rosso Risvegliato (2017)

by Alexander Chernyshkov

Chernyshkov’s opera takes place in a “vintage” technological environment that the young Russian composer found extremely stimulating to unleash his original and bursting creative streak. For this experiment, Chernyshkov, thanks to Tempo Reale, “is grappling with a score that combines everyday instruments-devices (elevator relays, dot matrix printers, obsolete floppy disks, etc.) with the contribution of two multi-instrumentalists outside conventional schemes. All within a framework of use of space that once again seeks to overcome the concept of a traditional concert in favor of an immersive and proximity enjoyment, increasingly essential in the most emerging electronic musical experiences”.
